Pension Protection Legal Services · Alor Setar, Kedah
Caring for the retirement years you have worked a lifetime to reach
Tirai Amanah offers patient, thoughtful legal counsel on EPF nominations, pension matters, and long-term retirement planning — with no pressure and no jargon.
What We Offer
Three areas of focused legal service
Each engagement begins with a quiet conversation. We take time to understand your family's situation before offering any view on what may be helpful.
Why Tirai Amanah
A measured, unhurried approach to pension law
Empathetic Counsel
Pension matters touch on family, health, and years of honest work. We approach each conversation with that in mind and never rush a client toward a decision they are not ready to make.
Malaysian Law Expertise
Our practice is focused specifically on EPF regulations, the Pensions Act, and related statutes. This focused depth means we can give considered answers where generalist firms might offer broad guidance.
Written Communication
Every review and recommendation is committed to paper in clear English. Clients leave with a document they can read again at home, share with family, or store alongside their other important records.
Rooted in Northern Malaysia
Operating from Alor Setar, we understand the regional context — including the ways family arrangements, land ownership, and retirement income interact in Kedah and the surrounding states.
No Obligation to Proceed
An initial consultation carries no commitment. We share our assessment of the situation honestly. If the matter does not require legal intervention, we say so — and we do not encourage work that is not warranted.
Long-Term Relationship
For clients who choose the Lifetime Retirement Plan, we remain available year after year. As family circumstances shift — a new grandchild, a change in health, a different property situation — the plan can be quietly updated.

A quiet conversation costs nothing — and often reveals much
We welcome enquiries by telephone, email, or the form below. There is no obligation to proceed, and we take care to explain our thinking in language that does not require a legal background.
Common Questions
Things clients often ask before making contact
What is the difference between an EPF nomination and a will?
An EPF nomination directs how your EPF savings are distributed after death, separate from the estate handled by your will. For non-Muslims, the nominated person receives the funds as a trustee for the estate. For Muslims, personal law governs how EPF monies are ultimately shared. A will and a nomination serve different legal purposes and ideally complement one another — our EPF Nomination Review explains exactly where your current documents stand.
How long does a pension-related legal matter usually take?
An EPF Nomination Review is typically completed within two weeks of receiving the relevant documents. Litigation preparation depends on the complexity of the dispute and the workload of the relevant court; we provide a realistic timeline estimate at the assessment stage. The Lifetime Retirement Plan is produced over four to eight weeks, with client input at each stage, and the annual review visit takes one to two hours.
Can my family member accompany me to the consultation?
Yes, and we encourage it for matters involving retirement planning or nominations. Having a trusted family member present often helps both sides of a conversation — the client feels supported, and the family member leaves with a clearer understanding of the arrangements being made. We ask only that the client confirms they are comfortable with the person attending.
Are your fees fixed, or do they vary by case?
The EPF Nomination Review and the Lifetime Retirement Plan are offered at stated fees of RM 310 and RM 980 respectively. Pension Litigation Preparation is quoted from RM 760 and may vary depending on the volume of documentation and the number of court attendances required. We confirm the full fee in writing before any work begins, so there are no surprises.
What if I decide not to proceed after the initial consultation?
The initial consultation carries no obligation. If after hearing our assessment you decide to set the matter aside, we wish you well and hold your details in confidence. Many clients return months or years later when their circumstances have shifted — we are here when needed, and we do not follow up with calls or reminders.
Do I need to visit your office in Alor Setar, or can matters be handled remotely?
For clients who find travel difficult, the initial conversation and most of the information-gathering can be done by telephone or video call. Documents requiring signature are arranged through a process that respects your circumstances. We do ask that clients who instruct us for litigation preparation visit the office at least once, as these matters benefit from a face-to-face discussion.
